Final four pick #4

From the Chicago bracket, in a stunning upset:

The Louisiana State University Tigers

Of course, I'm already in trouble as 12th-seeded Wisconsin-Milwaukee is leading 5th seeded Alabama by 10 in the first half. Roll Tide!(Of course, I have Bama out in round 2 to Penn anyway, but still...)

Final Four picks # 2 and 3

From the Austin Bracket:

Duke Blue Devils

From the Albuquerque bracket:

Louisville Cardinals

Stay tuned tomorrow for (hopefully) Egbert's comeback and my final pick for the Final four.

What the bloody hell?

I know they've had some weird track titles in the past, but this is getting silly. Mucky fingers???? A cuban percussionist? This *is* oasis, right?

Anyway, here's the tracklisting. I've heard three of the songs in different guises already...a bell will ring and the meaning of soul were outed at Glastonbury last year and Let there be love has floated around as a demo for over 5 years. If those three made the album and haven't been vastly improved in the studio....I might be a little worried here. OF course, come May 31st at about 11:30 after I've listened to it 3 or 4 times, it'll already be my favourite album ever, so there you go.

-----------------------------------------------------

Oasis have confirmed the track listing for their highly anticipated sixth studio album, ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’, released on May 30th 2005 on Big Brother Recordings. The first single from the album will be ‘Lyla’ released on May 16th. Noel Gallagher describes the track as “the Soundtrack of our Lives doing The Who on Skol in a psychedelic city in the sky (or something!)” He continues, “while ‘Part Of The Queue’ doesn’t sound remotely like anything we’ve ever done before. Legendary Cuban percussionist Lenny Castro shuffles up a storm. Amazing.” concluding “’The Meaning Of Soul’ is simply “Elvis on Red Bull”.

The track listing is;

Turn Up The Sun
Mucky Fingers
Lyla
Love Like A Bomb
The Importance Of Being Idle
The Meaning Of Soul
Guess God Thinks I’m Abel
Part Of The Queue
Keep The Dream Alive
A Bell Will Ring
Let There Be Love

Make sure you keep checking back to oasisinet over the next couple of weeks for more exciting announcements!!!!!

Bowlog of Soup (march 15th edition)

These guy that created the "chicken soup for the soul" series of books...they've gotta be (insert euphemism for homsexual here). I mean, what a bunch of crap. Me, I've never been a person that went in for all that "self-examination"stuff, you know, the Stuart Smalley type of thing? Well, these books are so far beyond that, it's not funny. Some of the recent titles:

Chicken soup for the soul celebrates cats
Chicken soup for the african-american soul
Chicken soup for the girlfriend's soul

Good christ, the best part? Now on radio: Chicken soup minutes! With Kate Jackson! AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

It's only a matter of time until the chicken soup for the chicken soup for the soul hater's soul book comes out. You just watch.

In other news:

Final four pick # 1: out of the Syracuse bracket: (and I might throw up before I make this pick) The University of North Carolina Tar Heels.

Days of Speed and slowtime Mondays

Slowtime Mondays indeed, Mr. Weller. My brain feels like it's swimming in a pool of molasses right now.

First things, apologies for the lack of an entry on Thursday and Friday last week. Egbert has gone MIA, and I frankly forgot about it on Friday. Whaddya gonna do?

In the meantime, I need to think of something to say. So I will.

The NCAA tournament starts on wednesday. Hooray! It's that time of year where everyone who didn't watch a single college game all year suddenly pretends to know exactly why 12th seeded Old Dominion will rise up and shock 5th seeded Michigan State in the first round. Me, I casually follow college hoops during the regular season, but once the tourney starts, I break out my ratty old Duke hat and go insane. In the coming days (probably wednesday), watch for my picks on who makes the Final Four. Here's a preview: it includes a former Boston Celtics coach.

Also, I realize after aiming for the sky with the greatest of intentions, that my proposed weekly series on one of my heroes, Michael Collins, never really happened. And with St. Patrick's Day on Thursday of this week, it likely never will. Us Irish....we're a little lax when it comes to following through with things. Feck off, the lot o'ye. Up the Republic.
