Did you mean to break my heart and watch me die?

Ringo Starr & the All-Starr Band - Casino Rama June 14th 2006

No, it wasn't THAT bad. In fact, it was pretty alright.

The good:

- I saw a real life Beatle.
- That real life Beatle debuted a Beatles song
- Billy Squier. I really like the way this guy plays lead guitar. Hopefully Dylan notices and signs him up to replace the dregs in his current band.
- Ringo: "What're you saying? I can't hear you...wait, who cares?"
- The following songs: It don't come easy, what goes on, honey don't, never without you, boys, yellow submarine, choose love, memphis in your mind, photograph, act naturally, I wanna be your man, with a little help from my friends. Coincidentally, all sung by a real-life beatle.

The Bad:

- Edgar Winter. Fine, he plays a bunch of instruments. I don't care. (God, the 70s sucked musically. Except for the Jam, of course.)
- The venue. An indian casino in the middle of nowhere. Weak.
- No Octopus garden, Don't pass me by or don't go where the road don't go. Memo to self: see roundheads show next time.

The ugly:

- Rod Argent. It's a shame, but he just wasn't up to it. Decent keyboards, though
- Richard Marx trying to get everyone to sing along to 'wherever you go whatever you do I will be right here waiting for you'...sorry, Rich, it ain't happening.
- 3 drum solos. THREE! I hate drum solos. I hate them so much. Sheila E's hot, but come on. 3 is three too many. And Edgar Winter doing a drum solo with sheila e when the world's most famous drummer sits idly by...idiocy.

The indifferent:

- Richard Marx. Good stage presence, one decent song (don't mean nothing?), and all in all pretty inoffensive. Still...it's richard marx.

Anyhoo, I saw a Beatle and that's all that matters. RING-GO! RING-GO!
