The Verve - Toronto May 1st
The Verve. Richard Ashcroft. Nick McCabe. Simon Jones. Pete Salisbury. The Verve. I'm seeing the Verve. Unbelievable. And the show actually lived up to expectations. To actually be 10 feet away from Nick McCabe while he created the soundscapes on Already there and Life's an ocean...to be right up close to Mad Richard while he sings This is Music and The rolling people...being in the crowd as we sang Lucky man, the drugs don't work and Come on at the top of our lungs...seeing them play bittersweet symphony in the encore and follow it up with a new song that was every bit as good as what came before. To see Simon clearly having a ball playing the bass in the Verve again. Truly amazing. Every bit as good as seeing them in 1997. I saw The Verve. One of the music highlights of my life, unquestionably. Highlights: A new decade, sonnet, this is music, space and time, life's an ocean, already there, weeping willow, sit and wonder, history, the rolling people, velvet morning, the drugs don't work, lucky man, come on, bittersweet symphony, love is noise. Seeing The Verve together.
